Salary: £35k – £38k (negotiable depending on experience)

THE ROLE

The key elements of the role and its associated responsibilities are:

Strategy and Scheduling of Client Accounts

  • Dedicated SEO Manager for a diverse range of clients from local to international SMEs across various industries
  • Jointly responsible with Technical Director and ACM for setting objectives for client and setting appropriate strategy
  • Creation and implementation of unique and creative ideas, outside of traditional and standard methods
  • Complete ownership of strategy and defining tasks for the SEO, Development, Content, Digital PR and clients’ own team members or partner agencies
  • Reviewing and approving any actions from SEO Executives and SEO Assistants for your relevant clients
  • Responsible for ensuring tasks scheduled adhere to an objective based strategy set for the client and Artemis’ operational standards
  • Ownership of quality for client deliverables including client presentations, website analysis, technical audits, etc
  • Regular review of client strategy and progress to rankings, traffic, and enquiries with the ability to adapt strategy to ensure clients are actively progressing towards objectives
  • Regularly reporting to Managing Director, Technical Director, and Head of SEO on client performance and open to learning opportunities for client performance and personal skillset

Client Communication & Team Support

Along with a dedicated Account Manager, the Senior SEO Manager will:

  • Communicate with the client via video calls, phone calls, and emails to discuss SEO performance and SEO strategy. Occasional face-to-face meetings with clients
  • Able to translate technical jargon into easily understood information, helping clients to understand how search engines work and the importance of SEO
  • Complete post-meeting works to agreed timescales and work with account management to prepare meeting agendas
  • Support account management team in writing and delivering monthly SEO performance reports including transparent overview of performance and plan of works in line with SEO strategy
  • Support account management team with client requests to go above and beyond and ensure clients have exceptional service and delivery
  • Work with other SEO Managers and SEO Executives to support them with client SEO strategy, audits, and tasks
  • Liaise with all departments including SEO, Account Management, Developers, Content Writers, Digital PR, Graphic Design, Operations and Finance to ensure smooth delivery of client work

Website Audits

  • Create detailed strategy and timelines to achieve SEO strategies
  • Undertake thorough evaluation of website audits to deliver technical, content, link building, and conversion rate optimisation initial reports. Review and approve keyword research and competitor research prepared by our SEO Managers and Executives.
  • Regular review of client strategy and progress to rankings, traffic, and enquiries with the ability to adapt strategy to ensure clients are actively progressing towards objectives
  • Identify new opportunities to optimise website according to Google’s Guidelines and Artemis standards outside of client strategy
  • Alongside the Account Manager, Technical Director, or Managing Director you will share the results of the website audits and be able to translate technical jargon into easily understood information

Website Migrations

  • Work closely with Website Design and Website Developers to define requirements for new website builds
  • Audit new websites pre and post launch to ensure they are technically SEO sound, prepare redirects, undertake extensive checks to ensure optimisation, mobile and desktop usability, content, conversion rate optimisation and technical SEO adhere to best practice
  • Regular monitoring of websites post website launch for site issues, keyword, traffic and goals

Technical SEO

  • Identify and provide solutions to technical issues such as: Website Crawling and Indexing, Core Web Vitals, Htaccess rules and redirects, Menu and URL structure, Canonicalisation and Schema Markup.
  • Demonstrable use of various tools to deliver SEO results:
    • Google Analytics UA & GA4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, and Google Optimize
    • WordPress, WooCommerce and Shopify
    • Yoast SEO
    • AHREFs or Equivalent SEO tools

On-page and CRO Optimisation

  • Creation and implementation of quality title tag, meta description, headings, and content optimisation plans using keyword research, Google Search Console, and competitor research to identify most effective targets
  • Use Google Search Console performance and keyword research tools to identify new opportunities for website growth
  • Assess content quality including services and blogs against competitors to propose how the site should be enhanced
  • Assessment of sites to identify opportunities for enhancement of internal linking, page structure, mobile first indexing, and defining tasks for the team
  • Undertake conversion rate optimisation (CRO) including analysis of Google Products, users recording software and implement advice from Google’s UX playbooks or industry advice
  • Advise on improvements to CRO, with consideration for reporting and execution strategy via website amendments or using Google Optimise to A/B test
  • Google Optimise experiments with detailed campaign objectives, goal setting and analysis of results

Local SEO & International Targeting

  • Undertake Local SEO opportunity audits including Google Business Profile, Citations and local link building
  • Implement strategy plans for improvements of Local SEO performance
  • Ability to audit and define requirements for hreflang tags, international targeting via folder and subdomain

Experience and skills required

  • Shared passion for generating new ideas and solving complex ranking issues
  • Exceptional understanding of the search landscape across different devices and search verticals
  • Good understanding of universal search and traditional effective on-page optimisation, and multi-lingual optimisation
  • Highly proficient in delivering technical SEO campaigns in line with clients’ bespoke strategies.
  • Excellent understanding of keyword research, site content and strategic SEO planning
  • An understanding of the commercial realities of SEO so to deliver meaningful results for clients
  • Strong and demonstrable experience managing ethical link building and link attraction campaigns
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS. JavaScript and other programming languages is preferred
  • Understanding of maintaining and optimising online content
  • Thorough understanding of Search Engine Optimisation strategy and techniques along with a demonstrable understanding of the latest web trends and their role in a commercial environment
  • Excellent communication and workload/deadline management skills

  • Exemplary written English language skills
