Artemis Renews Hurstpierpoint FC Sponsorship for 2024/25 – with a Surprise Premier League Legend!

We at Artemis Marketing are thrilled to announce our continued sponsorship of Hurstpierpoint FC for the 2024/25 season, coinciding with our own 20th anniversary in business.

But this year’s announcement comes with an unexpected twist that’s set to add a bit of intrigue this coming season!

In a stunning development, former England international and Premier League record appearance holder, Gareth Barry, has come out of retirement to join Hurstpierpoint FC for the upcoming season. The 43-year-old Premier League legend – with a 22-year professional career to his name – has come out of retirement after four years away from the beautiful game.

A statement from the club read: “We are beyond delighted to announce that former England international and all-time Premier League record appearance holder, Gareth Barry, has signed for Hurstpierpoint Football Club.

“Gareth has a long-standing association with the village through his good friend, and our Coach, Michael Standing; so, it seemed an obvious move to get him involved with the football club.”

Hurstpierpoint FC, affectionately known as the ‘Blue Dogs’, has been a pillar of our community since 1886. With Barry’s addition to their ranks, the club’s 138-year history is about to add an illustrious new chapter.

The club’s diverse structure remains a point of pride, featuring three adult men’s sides in the Gray Hooper Holt LLP Mid Sussex Football League, two youth teams for 16-18-year-olds, and popular walking football sessions for the over-50s. Now, with a Premier League legend in their midst, the ‘Blue Dogs’ are set for a season like no other.

Barry’s arrival is not just a coup for Hurstpierpoint FC, but for grassroots football as a whole. His wealth of experience from 653 Premier League appearances for Aston Villa, Everton, West Bromwich Albion, and Manchester City (with whom he was a part of the squad that won the 2012 Premier League Title), 67 career goals, and 53 England international caps, will be invaluable to the football club.
